001 hello
Hey everyone, and welcome to Khair Therapy!
I’m Nada Elawdan, the founder of this practice, and I’m truly excited to share a space that reflects my passion for mental health, self-growth, and healing. I wanted to create this corner of the website as a place to connect, share reflections, and offer insights that I hope resonate with you. Here, I’ll dive into topics like mental health, psychology, and wellbeing—subjects close to my heart—alongside lighter content such as popular culture and movie recommendations (because who doesn’t need a little break from the heavy stuff now and then?).
While I’m in the process of rewriting my official “About Me” page, I wanted to give you a little more background on how Khair Therapy came to be and what it stands for.
The inspiration for Khair Therapy struck during one of those quiet, everyday moments—while driving and running errands. The name "Khair" felt like the perfect embodiment of the values I hold dear in my work: kindness, goodness, and holistic healing that bridges Eastern and Western perspectives. I’ve always known that a major goal of mine was to establish my own private practice, but I wanted to do it with intention. I needed to wait for the right time, a time when I felt confident in both my clinical expertise and my unique voice as a therapist.
Early in my career, I had the privilege of working at several therapy practices, where I learned so much about different therapeutic approaches, modalities, and practice models. Each experience helped me shape a clearer vision for Khair Therapy. I took mental notes on everything—what felt meaningful, what didn’t resonate, and most importantly, how I wanted clients to feel when they walked through my doors. My goal has always been to create a practice rooted in compassion, cultural sensitivity, and empowerment, where every individual feels truly seen and supported!
One of the core philosophies at Khair Therapy is that mental health care should honor the complexities of each person’s identity. As someone who holds multiple identities myself, I’ve come to appreciate the nuances that shape how we experience the world. My personal journey—being an intersectional individual navigating different spaces—has deeply influenced my approach to therapy. Whether it’s supporting clients through transitions, exploring identity, or addressing anxiety, trauma, or relationship challenges, I strive to approach each session with genuine curiosity, empathy, and cultural awareness.
Reflecting on my journey as a therapist, it’s incredible to see how much I’ve grown. If I could look back at my early sessions during training, I’m sure I wouldn’t even recognize myself. Those initial experiences, though challenging, laid the foundation for a career that has been full of self-discovery, learning, and ultimately, a deep connection to the work I do today.
I’m beyond excited to officially launch Khair Therapy in January 2025. This practice has been a long time in the making, and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to offer a space that prioritizes holistic, compassionate care. My hope is that whether we work together in a therapeutic setting, or you simply visit this blog for insights, you’ll feel empowered to grow, heal, and thrive.
Thank you for being part of this journey. I look forward to connecting with you and walking alongside you as we all continue to evolve, together!
